I am the Program Director and have worked with Rochester Aquatics for 11 years. My vision for this program is to offer a safe place for all to learn water safety and formal swim strokes. While group and private lessons are the largest initiatives, the community classes and Infant & Tot Water Safety programs are my passion projects. Our partnerships with ISD 535 and Community Ed have increased our outreach capacity. My favorite thing is to see a swimmer from our program enjoying the water years later, whether in competition, or at the outdoor pools!

Nancy Verburg

Hello! I am the Assistant Director of the lessons program and the Prep Squad Head Coach. I have been at the pool ever since my four children wanted to join the team.  Rather than spend hours in the stands waiting for them to finish, I joined the instructors in the water and began teaching swimming lessons. My fellow instructors and the coaches of my children have helped me build a plethora of skills and techniques to teach swimming. 

As I’ve been building my skills, I’ve stepped into roles where I can now help others learn to teach and still help swimmers learn to swim. I love my job and get really excited when my swimmers move on to become champions in the pool.
